GRIFFIN MINING LIMITED

Further to the announcement made on 9th March 2000 concerning the exercise by
Aurex AB of its option to acquire Griffin Mining Limited's ("Griffin")
interests in Burkina Faso, Griffin has today issued 100,000 new ordinary
shares in respect of an introduction fee in relation to this sale. This issue
is subject to admission of these new shares to AIM, for which application has
been made with admission expected on 2nd June 2000. Following such allotment
and admission there will be 41,003,551 Griffin ordinary shares in issue.
