Issue of additional 700,000 options in Griffin Mining Limited exercisable at
24 US cents (15p) on or before 31 August 2001.

Griffin Mining Limited ("Griffin")  announces that it has today agreed to
grant options over 700,000 new ordinary shares to certain directors and the
Company Secretary and consultants to Griffin. Each option will entitle the
holder to subscribe for new ordinary share in Griffin at 24 US cents per share
on or before 31 August 2001.
