NEW YORK, Feb. 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Get your whisky
glasses ready – International Scotch Day is around the corner. How
are you celebrating this year? The Answer: 'It's Pronounced
OH-bin.' In honor of this spirited holiday on February 8th, Oban Single Malt Scotch
Whisky has launched a new campaign 'It's Pronounced OH-Bin'
with actor Jack Falahee. The witty
video series starring Falahee is inspired by the common
mispronunciation of the brand's name and brings it back to what
matters most – incredibly, good craft Scotch
Whisky.
Featuring two :30 second videos, created and produced by Mob
Scene, the campaign stars Falahee – a guy who tells it like it is
and does not mess around when it comes to the pronunciation of both
his last name and Oban. "My last name seems to really stump
people – I always get that unsure glance but it's not that
difficult to say. When I learned about the 'It's Pronounced OH-Bin'
campaign, I laughed because I so easily relate to the concept.
Plus, I've always had an appreciation for quality scotch and Oban
is my whisky of choice. I'm excited to join forces with Oban and
help more people learn about this amazing (and easy to say!) single
malt," said Jack Falahee.
In the second video, Falahee gives people a fun "education" on
the history of scotch highlighting some of the unique facts that
differentiate Oban from other single malts whiskies on the market.
Oban is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland, comprised of two tiny stills and
operated by only seven employees. While some might question this
business model, this single malt considers it quality control.
Simplicity is key, and the 'It's Pronounced OH-Bin' campaign
encompasses just that. The video series featuring Falahee are
available to watch now on Oban's Facebook page.
"As the scotch category continues to grow, we want people to
find a refreshing sense of familiarity and simplicity in Oban. We
wanted to create a campaign that is fun and helps set the record
straight that scotch does not have to be so traditional and
old-fashioned. We are very excited to have Jack Falahee help tell the story behind Oban and
bring to life the easy-going spirit of one of Scotland's smallest but iconic
distilleries," said Jamie
Young, Senior Brand Manager for the Diageo Single Malts
Portfolio.
Founded in 1794, the Oban distillery is known for its core
expressions: Oban 14 Year Old, Oban 18 Year Old and Oban Little
Bay. When celebrating International Scotch Day, please remember to
enjoy a glass of Oban responsibly. More information on Oban
products and the distillery can be found at www.obanwhisky.com.

ABOUT OBAN DISTILLERY
The Oban Distillery—one of the
oldest and smallest distilleries in Scotland—has been making fine
Single Malt Whisky since 1794. Made by a small group of artisans,
Oban is distilled in tiny lantern-shaped copper pot stills,
which are among the smallest in Scotland. In fact, the stills are so small
they need to rest between each batch so the copper can recuperate.
This results in a truly balanced, extremely smooth whisky. Situated
on a little bay between the West Highlands and the Islands, a mild
maritime climate with a background of heather and peat is perfectly
echoed in the malt whisky produced at Oban.
