Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited announces that as a result of the recent
acquisition by its parent company of Graham Investment Managers Limited and
GIML High Income Limited on 26 March 1999, the total number of shares in
Aberdeen High Income Trust PLC, managed by AAML and its associated companies
is 13,090,700 shares (representing 14.57% of the issued share capital).

The underlying beneficial interests remain unaltered as follows :-

Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust PLC - 7,325,000 (8.15%)
Leveraged Income Fund               - 4,000,000 (4.45%)
Other funds under management        - 1,765,700 (1.97%)
