                 EXETER SELECTIVE ASSETS INVESTMENT TRUST PLC


The Company has been informed that on 21 November 2001, Aberdeen Asset
Managers Limited purchased 1,825,000 Dividend Growth 1p shares on behalf of
Aberdeen High Income Trust plc.

Following this transaction, Aberdeen Asset Managers and its associated
companies now has an interest in 12,650,000 Dividend Growth shares
(representing 29.26% of the issued share capital of that class).  The
resultant total voting shares managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers and its
associated companies is now 12,650,000 shares, representing 12.32% of the
total issued voting shares. The breakdown of the holding is now as follows:


Dividend Growth 1p shares:


Aberdeen High Income Trust  3,325,000 (representing 7.69% of the issued capital
Plc:                        of that class)

Aberdeen Preferred Income   7,260,000 (representing 16.79% of the issued
Trust PLC:                  capital of that class)

St David's Investment Trust 1,000,000 (representing 2.31% of the issued capital
PLC:                        of that class)

Leveraged Income Fund       1,065,000 (representing 2.46% of the issued capital
Limited                     of that class)

Total:                      12,650,000 (representing 29.26% of the issued
                            capital of that class)
