Announcement

Jupiter Dividend & Growth Trust PLC ('The Company') received notification from
Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited ('Aberdeen') today that following the purchase
of 5,500,000 Ordinary Income Shares ('Shares') in the Company on 7th August,
2001 on behalf of Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc ('Preferred') Preferred
now hold 7,246,725 Shares representing 4.53% of the issued share capital of
that class. Aberdeen also notified the Company that following the sale of
5,500,000 Shares by Leveraged Income Fund Limited ('Leveraged') on 7th August,
2001, Leveraged no longer have a notifiable interest in the Shares. Aberdeen
and its associated companies now manage 23,525,000 Shares representing 14.70%
of the issued share capital of that class.
