The Board of Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust PLC has today (21 June 2001)
declared a third monthly dividend in respect of the year ending 28 February
2002 of 1.6p (net) per Ordinary Share.

The third monthly dividend will have a record date of 29 June 2001 and will be
paid on 26 July 2001 to Ordinary shareholders on the register at the record
date.
