INCOME SHARES

The Company has today been informed that, following the recent Placing,
Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited have acquired 10,000,000 Geared Ordinary Units
(comprising 1 Income 1p Share and 1 Capital 1p Share per unit), on behalf of
Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc. 

Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc now holds 10,000,000 Income 1p Shares
representing 13.7% of the issued share capital of that class.

The Company has today also been informed that, following the recent Placing, 
Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited have acquired 3,000,000 Geared Ordinary Units
(comprising 1 Income 1p Share and 1 Capital 1p Share per unit), on behalf of
Leveraged Income Fund Limited.

Leveraged Income Fund Limited now holds 3,000,000 Income 1p Shares
representing 4.11% of the issued share capital of that class.

The Company has also been informed that, following the recent Placing,
Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited have acquired 4,525,773 Income 1p Shares on
behalf of Discretionary Funds under Management.

The total number of Income Shares now managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers
Limited and its associated companies is 17,525,773 representing 24.01% of the
issued share capital of that class.

CAPITAL SHARES

The Company has today been informed that, following the recent Placing,
Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited have acquired 10,000,000 Geared Ordinary Units
(comprising 1 Capital 1p Share and 1 Income 1p Share per unit), on behalf of
Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc.

Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc now holds 10,000,000 Capital 1p Shares
representing 9.17% of the issued share capital of that class.

The Company has also been informed that, following the recent Placing,
Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited have acquired 7,525,773 Capital 1p Shares on
behalf of Discretionary Funds under Management.

The total number of Capital Shares now managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers
Limited and its associated companies is 17,525,773 representing 16.08% of the
issued share capital of that class.
