JOHNSON FRY INCOME & GROWTH TRUST PLC

The Company has today been notified of the following interests in the ordinary
shares of 25p each following the recent Placing which have been acquired by
funds under the management of Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited:

Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc has an interest in 7,500,000 ordinary
shares of 25p each, representing 9.62% of the issued share capital.

Second St David Investment Trust Plc has an interest in 2,500,000 ordinary
shares of 25p each, representing 3.20% of the issued share capital.

Leveraged Income Fund Limited has an interest in 7,500,000 ordinary shares of
25p each, representing 9.62% of the issued share capital.

Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited has acquired 2,500,000 ordinary shares of 25p
each, representing 3.20% of the issued class of capital on behalf of other
discretionary funds under management.

As a result of the above acquisitions, Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited and its
associated companies now has an aggregate interest in 20,000,000 ordinary
shares of 25p each, representing 25.64% of the issued class of capital.
