BFS OVERSEAS INCOME & GROWTH LIMITED ("the Company")

HOLDING IN COMPANY

The Company was informed on 24 November 1999 by
Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited ("Aberdeen") of the
following transactions in ordinary Income shares of
1p each ("Shares")in the Company.

Aberdeen purchased 325,000 Shares on behalf of
Aberdeen High Income Trust Plc ("AHIT"). AHIT now
holds 3,825,160 Shares representing 6.86% of the
issued shares in that class.

Aberdeen purchased 325,000 Shares on behalf of
Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust plc ("APIT"). APIT
now holds 5,075,000 Shares
representing 9.09% of the issued shares in that
class.

Aberdeen purchased 700,000 Shares on behalf of
Leveraged Income Fund Limited ("LIFL"). LIFL now
holds 6,346,544 Shares
representing 11.37% of the issued shares in that
class.

Aberdeen and its associated companies now manage
16,146,290 Shares, representing 28.94% of the issued
shares in that class. These Shares are registered as
