The Company has been informed that:

Following the sale of 1,124,340 shares on 11 November 1999, Aberdeen High
Income Trust Plc now has an interest in 2,500,000 income 25p shares
(representing 5.72% of the issued class of capital and 2.86% of the voting
rights);

Following the sale of 339,709 shares on 11 November 1999, Aberdeen Preferred
Income Trust Plc now has an interest in 2,500,000 income 25p shares
(representing 5.72% of the issued class of capital and 2.86% of the voting
rights);

Following the purchase of 1,464,049 shares on 11 November 1999, Leveraged
Income Fund Limited now has an interest in 2,479,858 income 25p shares
(representing 5.67% of the issued class of capital and 2.83% of the voting
rights).

Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited remain to have an interest in 9,497,799 income
25p shares (representing 21.71% of the issued class of capital and 10.86% of
the voting rights).
