The Company has today been informed that Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited sold
500,000 income shares (representing 0.45% of issued class of capital) on 22
October 1999 on behalf of Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc.

Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc now holds 16,000,000 income shares of the
Company, representing 14.56% of issued class of capital.

The total number of income shares managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited
and its associated companies is now 30,424,554 income shares of the Company,
representing 27.68% of issued class of capital.
