US Airways Operations Affected by Computer Outage ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The US Airways flight operations system database, hosted by Electronic Data Systems (EDS), experienced a malfunction this morning for approximately 3.5 hours. As a result, US Airways implemented a ground stop on Sunday morning in order to manually process flights and restore the automated system. Approximately 100 flights were delayed this morning and the delays could ripple throughout the system most of today. As of 9:45 a.m., Eastern time, the flight operations system was functioning normally. Passengers should plan to get to the airport in plenty of time to clear security, assuming their flight will depart as scheduled. US Airways is working to get all flights back to their scheduled departure times as quickly as possible. Separately, US Airways is experiencing some delays and a few cancellations related to thunderstorms in the Philadelphia and New York regions.
