Norwegian oil company Det Norske Oljeselskap ASA (DETNOR.OS) said Friday that wildcat well 2/9-5S on the Heimdalsho prospect offshore Norway is dry.

No traces of hydrocarbons were proven and the well will now be permanently plugged and abandoned.

Det norske oljeselskap is the operator of the license with a 30% working interest. Other partners are Dana Petroleum with 24%, Fortis Petroleum with 16%, Spike Exploration with 15% and Tullow Oil with 15%.
