It is unlikely that one preferred bidder for General Motors Corp.'s (GM) German unit Adam Opel GmbH will be selected Wednesday, government spokesman Thomas Steg said.

He added that talks on the future of the car maker will probably continue with more than one investor.

The spokesman also said that no clear plan has been provided by China's Beijing Automotive Industry Corp., which is not participating in the talks at the moment. However, he doesn't rule out talks with the Chinese bidder later.
