Beecher, Jr. had stepped down as Lead Director at the Board's meeting today in view of the fact that Frank R. Schmeler, Chairman of the Board, was no longer a corporate officer or employee. The Board accordingly eliminated the Lead Director position. Dr. Joseph G. Morone, President of the Company, succeeded Mr. Schmeler as Chief Executive Officer of the Company on January 1, and Mr. Schmeler retired from Company employment on February 1.
