WELLINGTON--New Zealand-based lines network and gas distributor Vector Ltd. (VCT.NZ) has signed contracts to provide natural gas to Fonterra Co-Operative Group Ltd., Mighty River Power Ltd. and New Zealand Steel starting this year, the company said in a statement Monday.

The company said the total of the contracts equated to up to five petajoules annually, with the longest contract term six years. No financial information was given.

Vector added it had also entered into an agreement with Royal Dutch Shell Ltd. (RDSA.LN) to purchase five petajoules of gas a year from Jan. 1, 2015, to Dec. 31, 2018.

"These transactions are significant to Vector as they extend certainty of gas supply and sales volumes from now to 2018," Vector Chief Executive Simon Mackenzie said.
