Business Wire
Orban(R)/CRL (OTCBB: CRLI) has announced the release of
OPTICODEC-PC Streaming Encoder Version 2.0. This version features a
new mid-cost "SE" standard edition and adds several new features to
the already existing PE (professional) and LE (light) editions. All
editions of the software let streaming providers supply content
encoded with the Coding Technologies(R) AAC/HE AAC/aacPlus codec,
widely acknowledged as offering the highest available audio quality
at the lowest possible bit rate. The new SE edition is a Microsoft
Windows XP/Server 2003 application that can be used with Orban's
Optimod-PC professional signal processing sound card or with any
high-quality Windows sound card. Complementing the graphical user
interface, a console user interface supports batch file execution
to enable easy launching and automation. SE allows up to four
encoder instances per stream, supporting up to 128 kbps using the
aacPlus codec and up to 320 kbps using the AAC codec. Streaming is
possible using both the MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standards. In addition to
MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 support, the PE edition now supports streaming to
3GPP mobile devices, providing FM radio-quality stereo
entertainment from these devices. All editions can supply streams
compatible with the standards-based RTSP/RTP free Darwin Streaming
Server, which are available for multiple platforms including
Linux(R), FreeBSD(R), Sun Solaris(R), Microsoft Windows(R) and
Apple Macintosh(R). Also supported are the popular standard
HTTP/ICY free Nullsoft SHOUTcast(TM) and Icecast2 servers, which
are available for Microsoft Windows(R), Linux(R), FreeBSD(R) and
Sun Solaris(R). Robust TCP/IP encoder/server connectivity ensures
that even with network interruptions, the encoder will
automatically reconnect with the server. The addition of Real
Networks Helix Universal Server and Universal Server Mobile (RTP
Standards) support allows more AAC/aacPlus encoding options than
any other streaming encoder. An improved user interface in the SE
and PE editions offers savable configurations and the ability to
launch via GUI, command line, or a batch file. An improved GUI user
interface for all editions uses standard Microsoft Windows menu
structures for ease of learning and use. Stations encoded with
OPTICODEC-PC can be experienced through RealPlayer(R) 10 or Winamp
5.09 and can be listed on tuner2.com/opticodec.net, a directory
service for OPTICODEC-PC streams. Orban/CRL Systems is a world
