Ten years of hard work, dedication, and innovation comes to fruition today for John M. Bourque, inventor of the revolutionary metal alloy Kryron, and Kryron Terminator Armor Systems. His company, Bourque Industries, Inc. (OTC:BORK), today announced the delivery of the Company's first ballistic armor order to the Collier County (Fla.) Sheriff's Department.

The order was for eight Terminator Level III stand-alone frontal assault plates for the Naples, Fla. area department's SWAT team for a total order value of $6,000. The Collier County Sheriff's Office also indicated that its supply of existing tactical armor will be replaced with Kryron Terminator armor as needed, and that the Sheriff's Office intends to purchase Terminator armor as an agency-wide enhancement to the current soft-armor system to maximize officer safety.

The Terminator Level III system, which is in the process of National Institute of Justice (NIJ) testing, far exceeds the capability of current Level III armor, consistently outperforming ballistic standards for durability and multi-impact protection. The Level III standalone system has repeatedly defeated more than 100 rounds, including high-power rifle fire, without penetration in recent public demonstrations for military and law enforcement across the country.

The Terminator armor system eliminates the dual problems of bullet ricochet and armor spall, where fragments of bullets or armor fly outward causing damage after impact. Ricochet and spall account for a significant percentage of injuries sustained from bullet impacts on hard body armor.

“We are honored to be the first law enforcement agency to wear Kryron Terminator armor,” said Bob Lewis, Commander of the Special Operations Group at the Collier County Sheriff's Office and a member of the National Tactical Officers Association advisory board.

Lewis said that he didn't see any need to wait for final NIJ certification before purchasing Terminator armor for his SWAT operatives.

“I have shot this armor myself many hundreds of times, and I can tell you without a doubt that this is the best personal body armor on the planet,” said Lewis. “I am convinced that when law enforcement across the country adopts Terminator armor, lives will be saved.”

“This is a landmark day for Bourque Industries,” said John M. Bourque, inventor of Kryron and CEO of Bourque. “It's especially fitting that the first order would go to the Collier County Sheriff's Department and Bob Lewis as he is nationally recognized as an authority on ballistics and armor.”

About Bourque and Kryron

Bourque Industries, Inc. is a publicly-traded company (OTC: BORK) based in Tucson, Ariz. Bourque is the exclusive distributor of all Kryron-based technologies.

Ten years ago, John M. Bourque's innovative and iconoclastic thinking inspired a new vision: To deliver a 21st century protective armor material that meets the critical needs of elite first-response teams and high-speed operators at a pinnacle level of protection, performance and innovation. The result: Kryron Terminator Armor Systems.

Terminator armor represents Bourque Industries' continued pursuit of delivering the most technically advanced, innovative and lightweight products that meet the life-saving needs of America's warfighters and law enforcement officers.

Kryron is a patented, state-of-the-art aluminum alloy and the optimal material for protective ballistic armor plates. Compared to industry-standard personal protection ceramic plates, Kryron Terminator armor is lighter, far more durable, and eliminates spall and ricochet.
