Amanta Resources Ltd. (Amanta) (TSX VENTURE:AMH) is pleased to report on the
completion of its present reconnaissance programmes at its Luang Namtha copper
concession, in northern Laos. Amanta's field teams and contractors have
continued line-cutting, surveying, mapping and sampling programs to delineate
and interpret the known high grade silver-copper mineral indications in the
Pakieng area, now known to cover an area of some 8 km2, and the additional
mineralized areas discovered throughout the Luang Namtha concession area. Amanta
personnel have focused on evaluating the known mineralized Pakieng area, while
the geological contractor, Intergeo of Vietnam, is conducting license-wide
reconnaissance and sampling.

The Pakieng Area. The Pakieng area is the location of the Company's initial
discovery of high-grade copper-silver mineralisation, as well as the previously
reported extensive silicified andesitic breccia outcrop hosting high-grade
molybdenum and associated gold.

Initially mainly characterized by the occurrence of large boulders and isolated
outcrops of volcanic material showing high grades of silver (up to 4 ozs/t) and
copper (up to 5%), the Pakieng area was sampled and partly mapped between
November 2008 and January 2009. A 12 km2 surveyed grid was cut, comprising
three-kilometre long lines, 500 metres apart, and sampling and mapping
observations were plotted against this grid.

Outcropping high grade silver-copper material was found to occur over a very
large area, presently extending over some 8 km2. Rock chip samples show copper
values of up to 5% in these outcrops, with accompanying silver values of up to
13 oz/t. These samples also often show lead values and these may vary between 1%
and 4% with exceptional values of well over 10% in vein-like material.

The mineralization at Pakieng appears to be structurally controlled with the
main strike-slip fault direction (N 600 E) being overall dominant and a
multitude of NS oriented veins, beds and other structures containing the
mineralization. Some of these manifestations are significant in size and could
represent individual mineral resource areas, but further work needs to establish
the exact size and grade of these occurrences before any conclusions on
potential can be drawn.

Contracted programmes. The license-wide reconnaissance and stream sediment
sampling surveys, contracted to Intergeo of Vietnam, have now been completed,
together with a 'final-check' 18 km long NS traverse through the main
mineralized areas. Intergeo has prepared a draft geological map, on a 1:50,000
scale, and a location map with reconnaissance rock sampling results and stream
sediment sample sites, covering the entire 200 km2 project area.

The draft geological map for the 200 km2 project area shows a geologic setting
with Triassic volcanic rocks and sediments underlying the western 20% of the
license area, with the remainder underlain by older volcanic rocks and minor
sediments. Intergeo has mapped outcropping acid-to-intermediate intrusive rocks
in the Triassic western part of the area and Amanta field teams have observed
and sampled intrusive rocks in the eastern part of the area. Additional mapping
by Intergeo will help determine the presence of intrusives in the larger eastern
part of the area.

Reconnaissance sampling has identified several outcrops similar to those mapped
at the main mineralized area at Pakieng, returning the same high copper-silver
grades. These samples have been taken from locations up to 20 km from Pakieng
and may represent significant additional mineralized potential.

Evidence of Intrusive Material. Intrusive rock outcrops have recently been
located in two areas. One group of intrusive rocks has been mapped in the
western part of the concession area, which comprises about 20% of the total area
and is underlain by Triassic volcanic rocks and sediments. Copper and gold
values occur near, and on, these grano-diorites, both in stream sediment samples
and in a limited number of rock chip samples. However, much further work needs
to be done in this terrain.

A second group of intrusive outcrops has been located within the remainder of
the area, which is underlain by Carboniferous-Permian volcanic rocks. Most of
these intrusive outcrops have been found along the northern project boundary
although some outcropping material and float has been observed close to and
around the Pakieng area. Of the more significant series of outcrops in the
northern part, several of the latest discoveries are found to be mineralized
with chalcopyrite. Assay results are not yet available for these samples.

Stream sediment sampling programme. 236 stream sediment samples, taken with an
average density of slightly more than one sample per km2, were prepared on-site
with additional preparation at the MAS laboratory in Bangkok, where the samples
have been assayed. Assay for gold was by fire assay and a series of 23 elements
was determined by ICP. This package includes silver, all the base metals as well
as arsenic, barium and bismuth.

The prepared distribution maps for the stream sediment results show several
coincident silver-copper anomalous drainages, mainly concentrated around the
Pakieng area, but with three additional large anomalous drainages to the
northeast, along the established structural trend. From within two of these,
high grade silver-copper mineralized rock samples have been collected during
reconnaissance.

Slightly lower level copper anomalous drainages occur in the west of the license
area, where Intergeo has mapped a series of three major outcropping acid to
intermediate intrusive rock centers and some smaller ones. The anomalous copper
values in this area of intrusive outcrop do not have coincident silver values,
but gold anomalous values have been recorded.

Future programmes. Overall, the results of the initial work completed to date by
the Company shows that the Luang Namtha project area has demonstrated potential
to host one or more significant silver-copper resources. In the Pakieng area
outcropping silver-copper mineralization has now been found to cover an area of
at least 8 km2 and some larger, consistently mineralized sections have been
mapped.

The emphasis in future programs will be on detailed work, establishing the
nature and character of this style of structurally controlled mineralization.
Amanta plans to complete an airborne geophysical survey to cover the entire
license area, possibly before the onset of the rainy season in June.

In addition, it is planned to continue systematic follow up ground work in the
Pakieng area and in other areas where high grade mineralization has been found.
Geophysical test lines employing IP, SP, Magnetics and other techniques are
planned for these areas as well as trenching, channel sampling and, if
appropriate, shallow-hole test drilling.

In the larger license area, important indications are the high grade
silver-copper occurrences discovered by Intergeo during reconnaissance, as well
as the intrusive outcrops in the western part of the license, well defined and
associated with copper-gold indications. Additional mapping and sampling
programmes will be conducted to assess the potential of these areas.
