taking deployment of consumer satellite broadband services to a new
level. Following 18 months of broadband service delivery through
Eutelsat's KA-SAT satellite, skyDSL has signed a five-year multiple
spotbeam capacity contract on KA-SAT, with an option for an
additional five years. Using selected service areas of KA-SAT, the
agreement equips skyDSL to step up broadband deployment across
Europe.
skyDSL has amassed over 10 years experience in delivering
high-quality satellite Internet solutions. Under its skyDSL2+
brand, the Berlin-based company
provides a portfolio of Internet access and triple play services
via its established platform in Germany. Services offering download speeds of
up to 20 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 6 Mbps are commercialised
through diversified sales channels, with customers reflecting a
cross-section of Internet users, from consumers to small businesses
and larger customers such as utility providers, industrial
companies, government and aid intervention agencies. skyDSL2+ is
currently available in Germany,
France, Italy, Spain,
Austria and the Benelux.
