(NYSE:VAS) announced today that its Vmax� Encore pulmonary function system is now equipped with the VIASYS VCare� Connect remote support tool, allowing VIASYS clinical experts to provide real-time guidance and technical support to end-users. VCare Connect, enabled by Axeda� Device Relationship Management (DRM) technology, is the first advanced remote services application to be used with pulmonary function systems in the United States. The system allows VIASYS� experts, with the customer�s permission, to access the same screen as the end user. VIASYS technical support personnel can then provide technical advice and answer specific questions about the performance and functionality of the system. In addition, through monitoring of diagnostic files, alarms, and other key performance indicators, the Vmax� Encore is programmed to provide a continuous snapshot of the operation of its system to VIASYS technical support teams.
