French advertising company Publicis Groupe SA (PUB.FR) Monday said it has won advertising contracts with General Motors Co.'s Chevrolet, Chrysler Group LLC and Anglo-Dutch consumer goods group Unilever PLC (ULVR.LN).

Publicis will handle advertising for three Chevrolet brands in the U.S., an account previously held by Interpublic Group of Cos.' (IPG) Campbell-Ewald agency, Publicis said in a statement.

In the first months of 2009, Chevrolet spent about $200 million on these three brands, Publicis added, quoting research institute Nielsen.

Publicis' Fallon agency won Chrysler's advertising budget from Omnicom Group Inc's (OMC) BBDO. Chrysler spent $283.4 million on its advertising in the first nine months of 2009, a 48.5% drop compared with last year, Publicis said, quoting Nielsen.

Razorfish, the digital agency Publicis recently bought from Microsoft Corp. (MSFT), will handle Unilever's online advertising campaigns, along with Havas' (HAV.FR) Euro RSCG agency and privately-held agencies AKQA and Lean Mean Fighting, Publicis said.
