Two file sharing sites accused of illegally distributing ebooks
were served court orders this week, after publishing companies
filed injunctions against them, and have voluntarily taken their
sites offline, the Financial Times reported Wednesday.
The publishers claimed Ireland-based Library.nu and Ifile.it
offered as free downloads more than 400,000 copyrighted ebooks,
according to the newspaper.
Seventeen publishing companies filed injunctions covering 170
copyrighted books in a German court, the newspaper reported.
In the U.K., the Serious Organised Crime Agency shut down
RnBXclusive.com, a music website that allegedly posted tracks
"stolen from artists," according to the newspaper.
