Company Puts its Values Into Action With
Employee Volunteerism
Today, LifeLock, Inc., (NYSE: LOCK) kicked off its annual day of
volunteerism, where employees leave their desks, roll up their
sleeves and give back to local communities in a day of service. All
of LifeLock’s employees are invited to join the event, called
“Do-Gooder Day,” across office locations in Tempe, Ariz.; San
Diego, Calif.; San Francisco, Calif.; and Mountain View, Calif.
“This day at LifeLock is all about living our values and giving
back to the communities where we live and work,” said Hilary
Schneider, chief executive officer and president at LifeLock.
“These organizations we support make a positive impact in the lives
of the community members they serve. We’re proud to help them in
return by contributing our expertise and resources.”
The company’s social responsibility mission is to help keep
families safer in an always-connected world. In addition to
providing services that help members gain some peace of mind,
LifeLock is also focused on volunteerism and giving back to
communities in ways that further its mission. With its annual
Do-Gooder Day, LifeLock is making tangible strides in key areas of
focus, including providing education to help protect against
identity broadly in local communities.
Highlights of the day include:
UMOM New Day Centers: UMOM is the largest shelter for homeless
families in the state of Arizona. Founded in 1964, UMOM’s mission
is to prevent and end homelessness with innovative strategies and
housing solutions that meet the unique needs of each family and
individual. Last year UMOM served more than 6,000 individuals
through its shelter and housing programs. Volunteers will clean,
help in the child development center and sort clothing in the
donation center.
Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT): RAFT helps close the
achievement gap and helps students apply their knowledge to a real
world environment. In the Sunnyvale, Calif., center, volunteers
will help assemble hands-on learning kits for science, math and
art, or sort and prepare donated materials for distribution to
educator-members of RAFT.
GLIDE Foundation: GLIDE creates a radically inclusive community
mobilized to alleviate suffering and break the cycles of poverty
and marginalization. In San Francisco, Calif., volunteers will work
with kitchen staff and assist with washing, chopping and mixing
ingredients in preparation for GLIDE's daily meal service.
Promises2Kids: With a mission to create a brighter future for
foster children, Promises2Kids has responded to the needs of foster
children and provided support to children removed from their home
due to abuse and neglect. Volunteers will assist with a variety of
projects, such as making no-sew fleece blankets and toiletries
bags, assisting with volunteer manuals and assembling gift bags for
a gala.
As part of the company’s commitment to help fight identity
theft, LifeLock trains law enforcement, victim advocates and
collaborates with a variety of non-profit organizations to help
consumers establish positive habits to combat identity threats. For
example, LifeLock partnered with the nonprofit FBI Law Enforcement
Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) to provide free
training to law enforcement throughout the United States and has
reached more than 11,000 law enforcement officers, representing
more than 4,000 agencies in all 50 states. LifeLock also partnered
with the nonprofit National Organization for Victim Assistance
(NOVA) to provide training to victim advocates throughout the
United States. LifeLock’s partnerships with non-profit
organizations focus on parents of pre-teen children, foster
children, and victims of domestic violence, who may be at higher
risk of identity fraud. Since 2014, LifeLock has partnered with
the National Parent Teacher Association to teach good
digital citizenship and online safety habits for children.
