Item 1.04. Mine Safety – Reporting of Shutdowns and Patterns of Violations.

On June 6, 2022, Freeport-McMoRan Bagdad Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan Inc., received an imminent danger order issued by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (“MSHA”) under Section 107(a) of the United States Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977. The order was issued at the Bagdad mine in Arizona upon observation of an individual standing under a suspended load. A new pump motor was being lowered into position and was above the individual swaying side to side, exposing the individual to potentially fatal injuries. The company promptly addressed the incident in good faith cooperation with MSHA and the order was terminated effective June 6, 2022.
