Recently, the Environmental Protection Agency has been considering the enactment of regulations regarding stricter emissions standards for industrial boilers. The Council of Industrial Boiler owners put out a study in response saying the new standards would result in a catastrophic $20 billion cost and loss of 16,000 jobs, twice what the EPA initially forecast. However, the National Association of Clean Air recently argued that the study vastly overstated the effect of new regulations and deliberately ignored the jobs it might create.
