Daegis (NASDAQ:UNFY), a leading provider of eDiscovery software and services, today announced that its litigation support and eDiscovery services have been recertified for compliance with the International Standards Organization (ISO) 27001 standard for information security management. The process involved an audit of each of Daegis’ offices and its complete Information Security Management System (ISMS) by a team of external auditors. This certification, from the British Standards Institute (BSI), demonstrates to law firms, corporations and government entities that Daegis places paramount importance on keeping client information safe and secure.

ISO 27001 is the formal set of specifications against which organizations may seek independent certification of their Information Security Management System. The ISO 27001 certification extends well beyond basic IT security and applies to all aspects of the business. ISO 27001 specifies requirements for the establishment, implementation, monitoring, review, maintenance and improvement of an overall management and control framework for managing an organization’s information security risks. In order to obtain certification, companies must go through a rigorous set of internal and external audits to ensure their processes are in compliance with the standard.

Maintaining ISO 27001 certification is also consistent with Daegis’ EU and Swiss Safe Harbor certifications.
