Connected Health and Smart Home Panel
Sleep Number today announced it will join fellow thought leaders
at the Connected Health Conference 2017 (CHC17) in Boston, Mass. on
Wednesday, Oct. 25 to address sleep technology and the connected
home. Melissa Barra, chief strategy and customer relationship
officer for Sleep Number will participate in an interactive panel,
Sleep Tech and Smart Home: Is Smart Bedroom the Next Opportunity?
as part of the Parks Associates pre-show workshop, “Connected
Health and the Smart Home: Assessing the Crossover
Opportunities.”
“This year’s Connected Health Conference brings together leaders
and companies on the cutting edge of personal connected health
innovation,” said Barra. “With our smart, effortless technology,
Sleep Number is at the forefront of connected sleep. I look forward
to sharing our insights on the importance of quality sleep to the
future of health and wellness.”

detracts from quality of life and contributes to chronic health
problems, they have a difficult time knowing what to do to improve
their sleep. Moderated by Jennifer Kent, director of research,
quality and product development at Parks Associates, the
interactive panel session will discuss how to integrate sleep
technology into a smart home experience and how to engage consumers
a more meaningful way. Barra will leverage her deep knowledge of
the customer to provide unique insight into the need of
individualized, smart sleep innovations for overall health and
wellness.
“Parks Associates data reveals that more than one-third of
consumers indicate they’d like help improving their sleep quality,
second only to the desire for help losing weight,“ said Jennifer
Kent, Director of Research, Parks Associates. “The next generation
of sleep solutions are not only detecting sleep patterns but
personalizing recommendations to improve an individual’s sleep
environment and quality.”

forward-thinking discussion. Analysts and industry executives will
discuss the role of health for the connected consumer and
