Citizen-centric vehicle tag renewal reminder
service through Gov2Go receives both regional and international
awards
The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) has
been recognized with a prestigious American Association of Motor
Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) award for its use of Gov2Go in
delivering car tag renewal reminders and other related government
services to Arkansas drivers. DFA was chosen as both a regional and
overall international winner in the Excellence in Government
Partnership category.
“We are honored to be recognized for offering Gov2Go as another
convenient, digital way for drivers to keep up with and complete
their vehicle registration renewals,” DFA Commissioner of Revenue
Walter Anger said. “On top of providing great service to drivers,
we are focused on shortening the lines at revenue offices around
the state. Our partnership with INA has enabled us to do that
through technology and to positively change the way Arkansans
interact with our agency and other government offices.”
AAMVA’s awards foster a tradition of excellence in the motor
vehicle and law enforcement community, recognizing service, safety,
security, and public affairs and consumer education. The Excellence
in Government Partnership Award recognizes a successful
project/program developed and implemented in cooperation with a
public or private sector organization.
DFA partnered with the Information Network of Arkansas (INA),
Arkansas’s official digital government services provider and
public-private partner, to integrate its online vehicle tag renewal
service with Gov2Go, the first-of-its-kind digital government
assistant. Since DFA added its ARSTAR tag renewal service to
Gov2Go, more than 127,000 Arkansans have signed up to receive
personalized and timely Gov2Go reminders about tag renewal, vehicle
assessment, and property taxes. Because Gov2Go learns about its
users, keeps tracks of their deadlines, and sends important
reminders to their computers, mobile devices, Apple TVs, and Apple
watches, drivers are able to become more compliant with the
regulations surrounding vehicle tag renewals.
