Site Provides Scholar Applicants and Alumni
Easier Access
The Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program (GSP) underwent a
website redesign to help achieve its mission of providing academic
and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts
program.
The redesigned website, gsp.ky.gov, is presented in a responsive
design, allowing scholar applicants, alumni, and other community
members the ability to access information and resources across
multiple devices.
“The Governor’s Scholars Program is now benefitting from the
excellent service provided by Kentucky.gov,” said Dr.
Aristófanes Cedeño, Executive Director of the Governor’s Scholars
Program. “We believe that the work done by Kentucky.gov on
behalf of the Governor’s Scholars Program represents the first step
in the route for the GSP to better serve digitally our
constituencies from all over the Commonwealth, especially our
bright youth and future leaders.”
The GSP website was redesigned by Frankfort-based Kentucky
Interactive, LLC, aka Kentucky.gov, via a public-private
partnership.
About the Governor’s Scholars Program
The Governor’s Scholars Program is a summer residential program
for outstanding high school students in Kentucky who are rising
seniors. The Program originated in 1983 as a result of Kentucky
leaders’ concern that the state’s “best and brightest” were leaving
the Commonwealth to pursue educational and career opportunities
elsewhere without fully understanding the potential of their
talents at home. Students who are selected attend the Program
without charge. In the spirit of partnership, the Office of the
Governor, the Kentucky State Legislature, and private enterprise
come together to provide the financial support for the Program.
