In partnership with Colorado Interactive and the Statewide
Internet Portal Authority, the team at the Colorado Division of
Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) developed and launched a new
website focused on innovation, efficiency, and transparency, which
can be found at http://www.colorado.gov/dfpc. The structure,
content, and functionality focus on providing critical information
about fire prevention, safety, aerial technology, firefighter
training and career advancement, current wildfires, and relief
efforts.
“We are excited and proud to launch a new website that gives
users easier access to the online services and updates they need,"
stated Caley Fisher, DFPC Public Information Officer. "Our new site
will give us the opportunity to fulfill our mission of safeguarding
those that live, work, learn, and play in Colorado, by reducing
threats to lives, property, and the environment.”
Colorado Interactive built the site infrastructure on the
Colorado.gov Drupal platform, delivering the security,
accessibility, and functionality necessary to meet the needs of
DFPC and the citizens they serve. The new homepage features
integration with the @COStateFire Twitter, allowing time sensitive
information regarding current wildfires from local and federal
partners to be immediately shared with citizens across the state.
The website also features an integration with the Colorado Wildfire
Watch app enabling users to receive alerts and updates on wildfires
across the state.
These website features make the DFPC website a place where
citizens of Colorado are able to access valuable information and
interact with DFPC anytime, anywhere. Fisher commented, “We value
the collaboration with the Statewide Internet Portal Authority and
Colorado Interactive and look forward to seeing this innovative
site in action."
