Arrowsmith brings great knowledge and understanding of SIPA’s
services and vendors. He has been involved with SIPA since its
inception. In July 2004, Governor Bill Owens appointed Arrowsmith
to the SIPA Board of Directors. Arrowsmith held the position of
chairman of the board since 2012 with the primary focus to
represent local government in Colorado.
“I have been honored to serve on the board of this wonderful
organization and watch it transform under the great direction of
John Conley and Gregg Rippy,” said Arrowsmith. “I am grateful to
the two of them for their strategic leadership and positioning SIPA
in a way that makes this a welcoming environment to step into.”
Arrowsmith graduated with honors from the University of Northern
Colorado with a degree in Secondary education and a minor in
business. Arrowsmith's professional career started as a classroom
teacher at Englewood High School. Since leaving Education in 1980,
he has held a number of management positions, including travel,
insurance and publishing industries. In 2006, Jack was elected to
the office of Clerk and Recorder for Douglas County. Prior to the
election, Arrowsmith served as the Public Trustee to Douglas County
for an appointment of four years.
Interim Executive Director, Gregg Rippy will continue for
another 30 days to assist Arrowsmith with his new role and ensure
there is a smooth transition. Arrowsmith officially began his role
as executive director on Tuesday, February 17.
“SIPA is a great asset to Colorado with its unique role in
providing innovative solutions to local and state government
entities,” added Arrowsmith. “I am excited to continue to move this
organization into a higher level of engagement with its Colorado
government partners and private sector vendors.”
SIPA’s partners are eager to work with Arrowsmith as well. Fred
Sargeson, general manager of Colorado Interactive, commented,
“Jack’s experience with SIPA since it began will provide continuity
to the state and local governments that SIPA serves. He knows where
SIPA has been, and has the right foundation to lead the
organization as it continues to grow, adapt, and refine the
eGovernment services that will benefit citizens and businesses
across Colorado for years to come.”
