                          Excellent start to the year
                      Sales up 14.9% in first four months
                         Confident of a successful year

Gavin Johnson, the Chairman of Vista Group, will make the following statement on
current trading at the Annual General Meeting to be held later today in
Manchester:

"We have had an excellent start to the year with turnover in the first 4 months
14.9% ahead of the similar period last year. However margins for the first half
of the year are likely to be slightly lower than for the similar period last
year.

The six pneumatic cold presses and the two new diamond bead glue machines which
were delivered in March are now coming on stream. The equipment is capable of
producing a door panel a minute and has enabled us to increase production
capacity by over 25%.

With our focus on the new build, social housing and the home improvement
markets, I believe that there are good opportunities to increase our share of
these markets in the coming year. There is a growing awareness of the advantages
of composite doors and we believe that this sector of the door market will start
to grow rapidly. Recent orders from the local authorities have been encouraging
with firm orders from Barnsley, Macclesfield and Southampton.

Overseas we are seeing a good flow of orders from Eastern Europe and we are
looking at opportunities to expand our overseas sales into other parts of the
world.

Enquiries from potential new customers are running at a high level and the
indication from our existing customers is that we shall see an increased flow of
orders in the second half of the year. Against this background, I am confident
that we can look forward to a successful first year as a public company."
