TUI Travel PLC (TT.LN) and Thomas Cook Group PLC's (TCG.LN)
Dutch units said Tuesday they are being investigated by the
country's competition authority.
TUI Nederland said the investigation is centered on alleged
illegal pricing agreements, while Thomas Cook Nederland declined to
comment on what is being investigated.
"We expect this investigation forms part of a larger
investigation into companies within the travel sector," TUI's Dutch
unit said. A spokeswoman for TUI in the Netherlands said the
company is confident of the outcome but doesn't know when the
investigators will report.
A spokeswoman for Thomas Cook in the Netherlands said the
company will support the investigation and that it doesn't expect a
negative outcome for the firm.
