CAT BECOMES AN INDEPENDENT PLAYER ON THE
LOGISTICS MARKET

The Albateam consortium has completed the acquisition of CAT (Compagnie
d'Affretement et de Transport) from Renault, having received clearance from the
European Commission. CAT is an important logistics group specialised in the
distribution of vehicles, manufactured goods and spare parts. The company has
offices in 14 countries and a turnover of EUR 1.2 billion (2000).

By creating an independent CAT with strong, global and well-reputed owners,
Albateam will give CAT the opportunity to meet the changing needs of the global
automotive sector. CAT will be able to extend its customer base, improve and
develop its customer service and expand on a global basis.

"We see great possibilities for the further development and growth of CAT", says
John Merry, new President of CAT and also President of Albateam.

The global automotive industry is experiencing fundamental changes. These
changes are driven by more demanding global logistics requirements, increasing
customer sophistication and changing buying behaviour. The growth of the
Internet is also forcing manufacturers to look at the need to develop
alternative sales channels. In response to these changes, manufacturers are
redefining their outbound logistics activities and specifically looking to work
with logistics specialists to improve efficiencies and cut costs.

The Albateam acquisition also gives CAT the possibilities to better serve its
key client and previous owner, Renault.

Albateam consists of four partners: vehicle transportation and technical
services specialist AutoLogic (40%), global provider of express, logistics and
mail services TPG (20%), specialised vehicle carrier Wallenius Lines with
extensive logistics activities (20%) and Renault who will retain a 20% holding.

Albateam took the management control of the company as from July 17th.

Global Automotive Logistics SAS is the legal entity of Albateam.
