TNT AND COMPAQ SIGN MAJOR LOGISTICS SERVICE CONTRACT

Compaq Global Supply Operation and TNT Logistics have officially signed the
contract to transfer Compaq's logistics supply chain for service parts in
Europe, the Middle East and Africa to TNT Logistics. In this strategic
partnership TNT Logistics will implement a new infrastructure for the
spare-parts services of Compaq. The contract has a total value of EUR 227
million over a term of 5 years. The implementation of the network will take
approximately one year.

TNT will be responsible for inbound logistics, warehousing of the central
inventory, outbound distribution, forward stocking in decentralised storage
locations and distribution to the service event in the specific country. In this
infrastructure TNT will operate a central warehouse facility of 20,000 sq.m. in
Nijmegen, Holland and circa 90 forward stock locations in 31 different countries
to ensure a 2-4 hour service delivery to Compaq's clients.

A TNT central information system provides full stock visibility throughout the
supply chain, which enables both companies to fulfil compaq customer orders in
the most flexible and responsive way based on real time information.

In the near future, the central warehouse and the forward stock locations will
be used for other TNT clients as well. This multi-user infrastructure will give
both parties the opportunity to generate economies of scale and provide superior
customer service levels that they would not be able to realise on their own.
