SMS signs contract with DONG Energy Sales Limited for meter exchanges and ADM(TM) roll out

The Board of Smart Metering Systems plc (AIM: SMS.L), is delighted to announce that SMS has signed a new contract with DONG Energy Sales Limited (formerly Shell Gas Direct), a UK subsidiary of DONG Energy . This contract includes the provision of SMS's advanced automated meter reading solution, ADM(TM), for DONG Energy Sales Limited's industrial and commercial (I & C ) customers.

The contract covers gas meters to be exchanged for new pulse enabled meters installed at the premises of DONG Energy Sales Limited's customers, in addition to installation of the ADM(TM) solution. Initial run rates are currently being established and once installed the meters will be included in SMS's long term index linked contracts.

About the ADM(TM) solution

The ADM(TM) is a cost effective and reliable data collection and smart metering solution developed by SMS and principally aimed at the I&C market. The ADM(TM) solution provides half hourly gas consumption data by access to a secure web portal or by daily e-mail or by secure data file transfer, depending on the requirements of the customer. European patent approval for the ADM(TM) solution and safety certification for operation in the most hazardous environments has been granted. The key features of ADM(TM) are that it does not require pre-installation programming, and is very much 'plug and play', resulting in reduced costs to the gas suppliers with increase data reliability over existing manual meter read services.
