Silverdell (AIM: SID), one of the UK's leading suppliers of asbestos remediation 
and consultancy services, announces the appointment of Ian Johnson to the Board 
as Finance Director with effect from 10 August 2009. 
 
 
Ian joins Silverdell with an extensive financial and commercial background. 
Following his career with Taylor Woodrow in a range of senior commercial and 
financial, roles both in the UK and US, Ian was previously Finance Director at 
McBride plc, a leading supplier of private label household and personal care 
products.Before joining Taylor Woodrow he worked with Regus as Group 
Financial Controller and prior to that with Exel. 
 
 
Ian's appointment follows that of Stuart Doughty as Executive Chairman earlier 
this year. Stuart, formerly Chief Executive of Costain Group plc, is working 
with Sean Nutley, Chief Executive, on finalising and implementing a long-term 
growth strategy for the Group. 
 
 
Concurrent with finalising its strategic plan, the Group has made significant 
progress on strengthening its financial position. As previously announced, the 
Group repaid GBP3.25 million of bank facilities and subsequently a further 
GBP1.25 million from available cash resources leaving outstanding banking 
facilities of in aggregate GBP6.70 million and an overdraft of up to 
GBP2.0 million. 
 
 
Siverdell will announce results for the year ended 30 September 2009 on 1 
December 2009 and expects to provide the market with a pre close announcement 
and trading update on 1 October 2009.
