                                    PRESS RELEASE

                                  Recycled Waste plc

                    Acquisition of Airless Processing Technology

Recycled Waste plc ("Recycled Waste"), the waste technology company, today
announces the acquisition by Airless Process Systems LLP ("APS"), a limited
liability partnership controlled by Recycled Waste, of exclusive global rights
to technology for the thermal processing of organic and biomass wastes.
Recycled Waste will be entitled to a proportion of all revenues generated by
APS.

The technology uses superheated steam and other gases to alter the physical
properties and chemical composition of waste such as green waste (e.g. grass
cuttings), wood, tyres or food products to produce useful by-products such as
green fuel, carbon, torrefied wood or clean steel and substantially recover or
combust components emitted as gases. Green wastes can be treated using the
Airless Processing Technology to produce green fuel, as an alternative to
composting. Potential uses for the green waste include as power station
feedstock for electricity generation.

This technology has been developed by Ceramic Drying Systems Ltd ("CDS") on the
basis of its patented superheated steam drying technology that is already in use
in the ceramics industry. CDS recently won a DTI Best Practice Award for its
successful industrial application in this area. The new technology can be
applied to a large number of waste streams and offers a practical solution for
businesses producing waste and subject to steadily increasing landfill costs.
Cleaned gases, which are a byproduct of the process, produce heat and can be
used to generate electricity.

APS was established to be responsible for the application of the Airless
Processing Technology. CDS will be the manufacturer and supplier of the
necessary equipment.

David M Norton, CEO of Recycled Waste plc, commented:

"This agreement allows Recycled Waste to access revenues generated by APS's
recycling technologies and expands the range of markets in which we operate.
There is today an increasing demand from business for practical solutions to
meet the growing waste management challenge. Companies offering credible and
cost effective solutions, like Recycled Waste, provide a way for businesses to
manage and even profit from increasing legislative demands for safe,
environmentally sound and cost effective recycling.

"Our work with APS is part of our strategy to develop Recycled Waste plc into a
global leader in the waste recycling business, founded on innovative and
productive processing of environmentally damaging or potentially valuable
wastes."

Notes:

1. Recycled Waste was established in November 1999 to exploit opportunities
in the waste recycling sector. In January 2002 Recycled Waste's shares were
admitted to trading on AIM and it currently has a market value of approximately
£8 million.

2. Recycled Waste uses technologies including reverse polymerisation, a
patented technology using microwave energy to reduce both the weight and volume,
primarily of medical waste, by approximately 80%. Employing less capital
intensive thermal processing of larger waste streams in superheated steam will
add substantially to the range of wastes Recycled Waste is involved in
recycling.

3. The Group concentrates on the recycling of wastes which either have,
like medical waste, a high "gate value", the amount someone will pay to have the
material taken away, or which, like wood and used tyres, can be converted into
value added products including thermal and electrical energy.

4. Approximately 400 million tonnes of waste are produced in England and
Wales annually, of which around 62 per cent goes to landfill (source: Department
of Environment, Transport and the Regions May 2000). Increasing public concern
relating to the environment together with the diminishing availability of
suitable sites led to the introduction of new regulations to reduce the amount
of industrial, commercial and municipal waste going to landfill to 85 per cent
of 1998 levels.

5. As a result Recycled Waste plc estimates that up to around 100 million
tonnes per annum of waste now going to landfill must instead be recycled, a
challenge it aims to meet.
