     The  Board of Orb Estates PLC (the "Company") is pleased to  announce
     that  Peter Gyllenhammar has been appointed a non-executive  director
     of  the  Company, with effect from 3rd October 1997.  Mr Gyllenhammar
     is  a  Swedish national and is Managing Director of Browallia  AB,  a
     private  company  involved  in  real estate  development,  securities
     investment and corporate finance, based in Stockholm, Sweden.
     
     As  at  the  date  of appointment, Mr Gyllenhammar  was  beneficially
     interested  in  360,000 ordinary shares in the  Company  representing
     5.4% of the issued equity share capital.
     
     The Board welcomes Mr Gyllenhammar and believes that the Company will
     benefit from his involvement as a director.
