          Substantial Shareholding Notification


Following the Company's announcements on 27 and  28  July
2000 (the "Announcements"), the Company announces that it
received  a  further clarifying notice  today on  28 July
2000, in accordance with the provisions of section 198 of
the  Companies Act 1985, from Morley Fund Management CGNU
plc  (formerly Norwich Union plc) (a member of  the  CGNU
group)  stating  that  the transfer of  8,745,000  shares
referred  to in the Announcements related to a CGNU  plc.
intra group transfer between Norwich Union funds and  CGU
funds  and  was not a sale of shares in the market.  CGNU
plc  no longer has a notifiable interest in the Company's
shares. This follows additional sales by CGNU plc  on  24
July 2000 of 4,079,268 ordinary shares.
