                        AGM STATEMENT


At  the  Company's Annual General Meeting held  today,  Bill
Bruce, Chairman, made the following opening remarks:

"Overall,  trading in the first six months of the  year  has
been satisfactory.

"The  510-K  application to market the 3ml  version  of  our
Futura  safety syringe was filed with the US Food  and  Drug
Administration ("FDA") in March and we remain confident that
the  quality of our submission will ensure a timely approval
for  this exciting product.  Development of the 1ml, 5ml and
10ml syringes is also proceeding as planned.

"Meanwhile, we are moving forward with implementation of our
strategy to have high volume manufacturing capacity for  the
Futura syringe in place this year, through a small number of
sub-contract  manufacturers.  We  are  also  continuing  our
efforts to acquire the rights to a family of medical  safety
products, which complement the Futura safety syringe.

"Development of our next generation blood glucose monitoring
products is proceeding to plan and the DART bio-sensor based
blood  glucose monitoring system is at the final development
stage.   We  anticipate filing with the FDA for approval  to
market  the product within the next few months and  we  will
shortly  commence  the process of establishing  a  US  sales
presence for Hypoguard in advance of the US launch.

"Completion  of  the recent Placing and  Open  Offer,  which
raised   in   excess   of  #45  million  has   significantly
strengthened the Balance Sheet of the Company.  We  are  now
well positioned to implement our business strategy."
