                                 Trading update



MG Capital plc (MG) intends to wind down the hedge fund business carried on by
its 75.5% subsidiary Jade Absolute Fund Managers limited in order to concentrate
on its private equity activities. The MG Capital group is planning the launch of
new private equity products later this year focusing on its key areas of
expertise in emerging markets and resources.



Peter Hannen, MG's Chairman, said: "Jade Absolute's Chief  Investment Officer
Stephen Swift is shortly to retire after presiding over a period of excellent
performance for Jade funds and it now seems the right moment to wind down Jade
Absolute and focus on our principal business which is private equity. We have
therefore agreed with Close Investments that our advisory role on the Close
Investments Far East Equity Fund, the main fund advised by Jade, will be taken
on by another advisor at the end of this month."
