    Appointment of New Finance Director


    Hyder, the international advisory and design consultancy, is pleased to announce the appointment of Russell Down as its new Finance
Director, effective 11 December 2008, succeeding Simon Hamilton-Eddy who will be retiring. Russell Down (43) is a Fellow of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, having qualified with KPMG. He currently holds the position of Group Head of Finance and
Development and has worked within Hyder for 11 years having previously held the positions of Group Financial Controller and Finance and
Commercial Director for the Middle East Region. 

    Sir Alan Thomas, Chairman, commented: "Russell has worked closely with Simon in a Group role over the past five years and earlier played
an important part in the expansion of our Middle East Region. We are very pleased to make this appointment and believe Russell's experience
will strongly complement that of Ivor Catto, our CEO designate, and that of the senior executive team."

    No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 R of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services Authority
in relation to Mr Down's appointment to the Board of the Company.
