HYDER CONSULTING PLC ("Hyder Consulting" or   the "Company")

Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Hyder Consulting, the international engineering design, advisory and specialist
management consultancy, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jeffrey
Hume as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1st May 2007.

On joining the Board, Mr Hume will become a member of the Audit, Nomination and
Remuneration Committees.

Mr Hume (54) is the Group Financial Director of TDG plc, prior to which he held
the same post at three other public companies: AWG plc, Alfred McAlpine plc and
Howden Group plc. Earlier in his career, he held senior posts at BTR plc and at
Hawker Siddeley Group plc where he was Chief Executive of its power station
equity interests and Group Treasurer. He is a Fellow of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants and of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph LR 9.6.13
R of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services Authority in relation to
Mr Hume's appointment to the Board of the Company.
