    HSBC European Absolute Limited (the "Company") 

    The directors of the Company announce that, following consultation with their advisers, they have resolved to bring forward liquidation
proposals. The board intends to post a circular to shareholders by the end of August 2008 which will include full details of the proposals,
notice of meetings for the Euro and Sterling hedged share classes and notice of an extraordinary general meeting. 
      
    The Board intends to make HSBC Global Absolute Limited available as a successor investment vehicle for those shareholders who wish to
roll over their investment. Shareholders who wish to realise their investments for cash will be also be offered the option of cash in
respect of the whole of their investment.
