Notification of Major Interests in Shares

Gyrus Group PLC received today, a notification from Norwich Union Investment
Management informing them that following a purchase of 100,000 Ordinary Shares
on 24th May, 1999, the Norwich Union material interest is in 1,014,000
Ordinary Shares, representing 3.27% of the Company's issued Ordinary Share
Capital.  These shares are registered in the name of Norwich Union Life &
Pensions B A/C.
