Reading, UK - Gyrus Group (GYG.L), a leading supplier of medical devices which
reduce trauma and complications in surgery, notes the action launched against it
by ArthroCare Corp alleging infringement of patent number 5,697,882.  The action
relates to a number of Gyrus' products including Gyrus' jPlasmaKnife and Plasma
Trissector which form a very small percentage of overall group revenues.

Having extensively reviewed and considered this patent in the past, Gyrus firmly
believes that this case is entirely without merit and will vigorously defend its
position.
