                        Response to Share Price Movement



In light of the recent share price movement Gaskell plc wishes to update the
market as to its progress since the trading statement of 23 December 2002.

Gaskell announces that it is at an advanced stage of negotiations for the sale
of its Tile Division and certain property assets.

Gaskell will make further announcements as appropriate.
